Powdery Mildew (Sphaerotheca fuliginea, Acrosporium caricae Leveillula taurica)
Symptoms
- Small circular patches on both side of the leaves and stem of young seedlings
- Patches extend- coalesce and cover the entire surface of leaves
- Severely infected leaves curl, dry up, hang down and finally fall down
- The stem shrivels at the infected portion and collapses
Management
- Prune diseased leaves to reduce primary inoculum load.
- Keep proper spacing during sowing.
- Thiophanate methyl 70% WP @ 286 g in 300-400 l of water/acre (Thiophanate methyl 70% WP @ 0.1% along with sticker @ 0.05%)
