Leaf hoppers (Macrosteles fascifrons)

Symptoms

• Leaves to become stippled, pale or brown.
• Shoots die.
• Transmits a disease known as aster yellows.

Management

• Make the field free of weeds as it host the insect.
• Spray neem garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil + 20 gram garlic paste + 5 gram bar soap/litre of water).
