Leaf Thrips (Neohydatothrips samayunkur)

Symptoms

• Feed by puncturing the epidermal layer of host tissue.
• Sucking out the cell contents.
• Leaves become spotted and pale (Silvery streaks).
• At later stage upward curling of leaves and crumbling seen.

Management

• Hang blue sticky (castor oil coated) traps@ 20 no/ha.

• Spray neem garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil 20 gram garlic paste + 5 gram bar soap/litre of water).
