Bacterial soft rot or Brown rot (Erwinia chrysanthemi)

Symptoms

• Small water soaked spots appear on the leaves surrounded by yellow halos.
• Roots are also affected and spread slowly into the rhizomes.
• Wet rot has foul odor and water soaked appearance.

Management

• The disease spread by splashing water, so avoid overhead watering.
• Remove and destroy infected plant parts.
