Collar Rot / Southern Blight(Sclerotium spp)

Symptoms

  • Rapid collapse and rotting of the roots, pseudo bulbs / stem and lower parts of the leaves, which in turn creamy yellow.
  • Infested tissue becomes brown.
  • Affected leaves show yellowing and wilting and eventually die.

Management

  • Field sanitation, good air movement and lower temperatures.
