Root Rot(Rhizoctonia sp.)

Symptoms

  • Rotting of the plants.
  • Leaves and pseudobulbs / stem become yellow, shriveled, thin and twisted.
  • New seedlings become progressively smaller.
  • Brown rot with white or brown fungal growth occurs in roots.
  • Infection invades the lower leaves and rhizomes.

Management

  • Remove infected part of roots and leaves using a sterile cutting tool.
  • Disinfect growing area with bleaching powder (1 gram/liter of water).
