Scales (Diaspis boisduvali, Aspidiotus destructor)

Symptoms

• Suck the sap from leaves.
• Damages to leaves and pseudo bulbs.
• Development of sooty mould fungus by honey dew excretion.
• Yellowing, wither and dry up of leaves.

Management

• Spray fish oil rosin soap (15 gram/litre of water).
• Field release of green lace wing larvae (Chrysoperla carnea) is found beneficial.
• Conserve the predatory Lady bird beetles (Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, Scymnus sp.).
