Katte or mosaic Virus disease (Cardamom mosaic virus)
Symptoms
- Discontinuous stripes of light green colour running almost parallel to each other from the mid-rib to the margin of the leaves, which form a mosaic pattern.
- On young shoots, such stripes are seen on the leaf sheath also.
- Infected clumps will be smaller in size with fewer tillers.
Management
- Destruction of plants showing symptoms of the disease should be done promptly once in two months.
- Removal of all alternate hosts of virus is also recommended.
