Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum)

Stem rot or stem lodging (Fusarium oxysporum)

Symptoms

  • The pathogen attach middle portion of a tillers as a result, the infected one produces pale colour lesions leading to dry rotting.
  • Disease occurs during non rainy seasons.

Management

  • Application of Trichoderma @ 10 g per clump-1 along with 0.5 kg quality neem cake is recommended
  • Remove & destroy disease affected parts
  • A prophylactic foliar spray and drenching of the plant bases with 2% Pseudomonas fluorescens PN026 preparation in cow dung supernatant before the onset of summer
  • Spraying 2% Pseudomonas fluorescens in water, together with a basal application of AMF@ 100g and Trichoderma asperellum PSP KAU T6 @ 50g/plant
