Bean rot (Phytophthora meadii)
Symptoms
- Rotting at tips of leaves & extended towards pedicel and results whole rotting.
- Affected beans become soft,brown coloured and have mycelial growth.
- Severe in rainy season.
Management
- Remove & destroy infected beans.
- Lop the branches of supporting standards and shade trees to ensure proper aeration.
- Apply Pseudomonas fluroscens or Trichodermma viride – 20 g/litre of water during pre monsoon & post monsoon periods.
