Wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.vanillae)
Symptoms
- Yellowing, wilting, shriveling of leaves, stem and beans are the characteristic symptoms
- Brown colour in roots of infected plants.
- Vascular tissues become brown/black in colour.
- Rotting and drying of leaves & stem, finally vine die.
Management
- Remove diseased plants along with surrounding soil where the disease is observed.
- Remove weeds around the plants.
- Mulch the base of the vine with dry leaves before and after monsoon.
- Avoid injury to roots during cultivation.
- Apply Pseudomonas fluroscens or Trichodermma viride – 20 g/litre of water during pre monsoon & post monsoon periods.
