Symptoms

  • Most serious problem affecting coleus.
  • Infected plants develop galls, become stunted and show yellowing and drooping.
  • Root growth is suppressed. Galls are very big and pronounced.

Management

  • Soil solarization
  • Adopt crop rotation with sweet potato
  • Deep plough the field in summer
  • Destroy root residues and other plant parts by burning
  • Plant marigold along the borders of the field
  • Apply neem cake 200 gm/hectare into soil
  • Paecilomyces lilacinus (20g/l) in the soil
