Symptoms
- The disease starts with raised pustules in yellowish, orange, or reddish-brown colour on the leaves and stems.
- As the plant grows, these pustules become brown or black.
- Symptoms on mostly notice the on the underside of the leaves.
- Plants with severe rust infection may appear stunted, yellowish, or show other discolorations.
- The disease thrives in cool temperatures and high humidity
Management
- Affected leaves and stubbles should be removed and burned immediately.
- Remove and destroy collateral hosts like Saccharum spontaneaum, Erianthus fulvus.
