Symptoms
- The disease starts as raised reddish brown eruptions or pustules on the leaf and stem surface. The pustules are elliptical and parallel with the leaf veins.
- In highly susceptible cultivars the pustules occur so densely that almost the entire leaf tissue is destroyed.
- The pustules may also develop on the leaf sheaths and inflorescence stalks
Management
- Destroy the collateral host Oxalis corniculata.
- Spray Mancozeb 75 WP (3 g/litre of water).
