Pineapple mite (Dolichotetranychus floridanus)
Symptoms
- These cause damage to leaves and fruits.
- Severe infestations produce large, dark brown lesions that almost cover the basal white tissue which can lead to necrosis and death of the leaves.
- Plants that are infested in the early stages remain small
- Fruit production is either curtailed or non-existent.
- Heavily infested plants may die before producing fruit.
