Symptoms
- They are found in groups with ants.
- Insects drink sap from the plant
- Loss of shape of leaves, flowers and stems.
- If the disease is severe, the leaves and flowers fall off.
- They produce honey dew which get infected with black mould.
Management
- Place yellow traps at the rate of 20 per hectare.
- Lecanicillium lecani should be sprayed on the plant at the rate of 20g per litre of water.
- Neem oil and garlic mixture can be sprayed on the plants (mix 20 ml neem oil +20g garlic powder +5 g bar soap in one litre of water).
