Symptoms
- Stem of the plant decay.
- Sudden wilting and collapsing of the crown leaves.
- Rotting of the flower stalk.
- Initial symptom - flaccidity and drooping of leaves.
- Leaves become yellow and dry up.
- Thick cottony growth of the fungus is visible on the rotten stem.
Management
- Adopt wider spacing for planting.
- Drench the soil with Pseudomonas fluorescens (20 g/litre of water).
