Symptoms
- Damage by sucking the plant sap.
- Leaves, inflorescence stalk and young pods covered with aphids.
- Infested pods become withered and malformed.
- Complete drying of affected pods.
- Honey dew secretion with black ant movements.
Management
- Spray tobacco decoction or neem oil-garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil+ 20 gram garlic paste+ 5 gram bar soap dissolved / litre of water) or Nattapoochedi (Hyptis suaveolens) emulsion (100 gram/ litre of water).
- Spray Laecanicillium lecanii (synonym Verticillium lecanii) or Beauveria bassiana (20 gram/litre of water).
- Release green lacewing bugs @ 50,000 eggs/ha.
