Alternaria leaf spot (Alternaria solani)

Symptoms

• Brown lesions with typical target board appearance of concentric ring develop on older leaves.
• On the stem and leaf petioles, black lesions appear and result in leaf shedding and death

Management

• Use of pathogen free planting material
• Enforcing good sanitation in the field by removing and destroying infected crop debris
• Spraying mancozeb 0.2% at fortnightly intervals in severe cases.
