Leaf spot (Cercospora batatae, Cercospora ipomoeae)

Symptoms

• Small circular or angular or dark brown spots noticed in older leaves
• Spots may coalesce and form patches and cause blighting
• Shot hole symptoms and rapid yellowing of leaves
• Premature defoliation

Management

• Plant tolerant varieties
• Spray Mancozeb 0.2% at fortnightly intervals if disease is severe
