Anthracnose (Glomerella cingulata, Colletotrichum gloesporioides)

Symptoms

  • Dark sunken spots observed on leaves, stems, and other parts of the plant.
  • The first signs usually appear as small brown spots with a yellow halo at the tips of lower leaves.
  • These spots grow larger and turn black, causing affected leaves to wither.
  • Stems can also be infected, either at the top or near the base.
  • This disease tends to be more severe during the rainy season.

Management

  • Remove and destroy infected crop debris.
