Downy mildew(Perenospora schachtti)

Symptoms

  • Irregular yellowish or greasy greyish areas on the leaves are the primary symptoms.
  • Affected leaf dries and shrivels quickly.
  • A white mildew growth appears on the lower surface of the affected leaves.
  • The entire inflorescence has a compact appearance and excessive leaf development may give an appearance witches broom.

Management

  • Follow field sanitation.
  • Follow crop rotation.
