Symptoms

  • Reduction in size of leaves – narrow, soft, smooth and yellow
  • Petioles reduced
  • Proliferation of auxiliary buds with shortened internodes
  • Conversion of floral parts into leafy structures
  • Infected plants do not bear any fruit
  • Flower parts are deformed leading the plants to be sterile.

Management

  • Infected plants are removed from field and destroy
  • Avoid continuous cultivation of solanaceous vegetables
