Little Leaf of Brinjal (Phytoplasma (Vector: Jassids))
Symptoms
- Reduction in size of leaves – narrow, soft, smooth and yellow
- Petioles reduced
- Proliferation of auxiliary buds with shortened internodes
- Conversion of floral parts into leafy structures
- Infected plants do not bear any fruit
- Flower parts are deformed leading the plants to be sterile.
Management
- Infected plants are removed from field and destroy
- Avoid continuous cultivation of solanaceous vegetables
