Symptoms
- Wilting, dropping, and stunting of foliage and collapse of whole plant
- Downward curling of leaflets
- Vascular discolouration and browning of roots
- Bacterial ooze is noticed when the stem is cut and dipped in water
Management
- Crop rotation with non-hosts
- Destroy solanaceous collateral hosts
- Remove and destroy infected plants and disinfected the pit with bleaching powder @ rate of 15 kg /ha
- Application of well decomposed neem cake @ 25 g/pit
- Use resistant varieties like Surya, Swetha, Haritha, Neelima
