- Yellowing and drying of sheath covering the cob
- Seeds become fairly hard and dry
Post Harvest Practices
- Dry maize ears for 3-4 days (It enhances grain recovery and minimize breakage losses during shelling)
- Shell the maize when the moisture content falls between the range of 15- 20%
