Nursery preparation

• Nursery area to raise seedlings for 1 hectare - 480 m²
• Farmyard manure (FYM)/compost – 5 t/ha
• Prepare the nursery field to fine tilth
• Form beds and channels
• Sow seeds uniformly on the beds and cover by stirring the soil
• Transplant the seedlings at three weeks old
  Note:
  • Apply carbaryl 10% on the edges of the beds against ants.
  • Apply ammonium sulphate @ 1kg/100m² one week before uprooting seedlings
