Harvesting

• The first cut is done after 5-6 months at a height of 70-80cm from the ground level when the plant reaches a height of 1.5-1.75m
• Subsequent harvest can be made at 50-60 days interval
• In low rainfall areas, an yield of 25-30 t/ha/year may be obtained
• Irrigated crop produces 100 t/ha of green fodder yield per year in 7-8 cuttings
