Hairy caterpillar (Pericallia ricini)

Symptoms

• Caterpillars eat leaves, causing them to fall off (defoliation).
• Pest attack is high during the night.
• Host plants include castor and moringa.

Management

• Spray neem garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil + 20 gram garlic paste + 5 gram bar soap/litre of water).
