Symptoms

  • Scales infest the base of vines and tubers.
  • In severe cases, plants can wither and dry up.
  • Scales can completely cover the entire tuber.
  • This causes the tubers to shrivel and lose their original shape.

Management

  • Spray neem garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil + 20 gram garlic paste + 5 gram bar soap/litre of water).
  • Spray Lecanicillium lecanii (synonym Verticillium lecanii) (20 g/litre of water).
