At the time of land preparation

• Farm Yard Manure : 20 t/ha
• Lime 250 kg/ha or dolomite 400 kg/ha

Fertilizer dosage

• N:P₂O₅:K₂O- 20:30:10 kg/ha
  Method of application
  • At the time of final ploughing
    • Half dose of N (10kg/ha)
    • Full dose of P₂O₅ (30 kg/ha)
    • Full dose of K₂O (10 kg/ha)
  • 15 to 20 days after sowing.
    • Remaining half of N (10 kg/ha)

• Note: In the alluvial soils of Kuttanad, Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium should be applied in the ratio of 10:20:10 kilograms per hectare in several doses at intervals of two weeks.
