Irrigation
Frequent irrigation (once a week) is required during the initial crop growth stage to promote vegetative growth. Irrigation intervals are increased as the crop matures, and finally, irrigation is withheld.
Weed Control
Weeding and hoeing are done as needed. As a closely planted crop, intercultural operations must be performed carefully to avoid crop injury.
Earthing Up
Earthing up should be done at 60 days after planting (DAP).
