Leaf roller (Sylepta derogata)

Symptoms

  • Young larvae feed on the undersurface of the leaves for two days, later rolls the leaf in the form of trumpets and remains inside.
  • More than one larva can be seen inside the roll.
  • In severe cases, defoliation occurs.
  • Larvae glistening green with dark head.

Management

  • Collect and destroy rolled leaves.
  • Avoid over use of nitrogen fertilizers.
  • Spray of NSKE @ 4.0 per cent
