Onion is one of the most important bulb crop cultivated commercially throughout the country. The major onion producing states are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujrat, Odissa, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, etc. Some districts of West Bengal produce onion commercially. Onions is used in making culinary as vegetables and spices both. White onions are processed and exported from India.
