Root-knot nematode (Meloidogynae arenaria and M. incognita)

Symptoms

• Potato roots may develop small galls or knots.
• Plants heavily infested by nematodes grow smaller and mature faster.
• Fewer and smaller tubers are produced, leading to lower yields.
• Tubers may develop wart-like growths.

Management

• Avoid use of seeds from infested areas.
• Application of Neem Seed Kernel Extract 4% and neem cake @ 80kg/acre at the time of planting
