Leaf Eating Caterpillars(Spodoptera litura)

Symptoms

• Freshly hatched larvae feed gregariously scrapping the leaves
• Feeding voraciously at night on the foliage.
• During severe infestation, entire crop may be defoliated over-night.

Management

• Collection and destruction of infested leaves
• Use light traps @ 1/ha
• Spray cow’s urine (1 L in 10 L water) + bird’s eye chilli(5g) solution
• Spray Beauveria bassiana @ 20g/L
