Early blight(Alternaria solani)
Symptoms
- Brown coloured circular lesions can be seen on the leaf surface.
- These lesions enlarge and concentric zonations can be seen on the leaves.
- A yellow halo is seen around the lesions.
- Adjacent lesions coalesce and result in blighting.
- Cause defoliation of leaves.
- Lesions can be also seen on stem, calyx etc. It also spread to the fruits.
Management
- Maintain the health of the plant
- Use of disease-free seeds from healthy fruits
- Removal and destruction of crop debris
