Die-back (C.O.: Botryodiplodia theobromae)

Symptoms

  • Discolouration and darkening of the bark occurs at some distance from the tip.
  • Young green twigs start withering first at the base
  • Affected leaves become brown and their margins roll upwards.
  • During this stage, the twig or branch dies, shrivels and falls.
  • Exudation of gum from affected branches may occur.

Management

  • Pruning of infected twigs should be followed.
