Rhizopus fruit rot (C.O: Rhizopus artocarpi)
Symptoms
- Rotting seen in the inflorescence and young developing fruit.
- Greyish growth of the fungus seen on developing fruits from fruit stalk.
- Fungus develops into a black and velvety growth and covers the entire fruit and later, fruit drops
Management
- Remove and destroy diseased fruits from trees and the ground
- Prune the tree for good aeration and reduce relative humidity.
- Ensure proper drainage.
