Symptoms
- Pests suck sap from leaves and tender shoots. This makes the shoots wilt in hot weather.
- Leaves get spots with yellow or dark green in colour and the plant become stunted.
- Sometimes, honeydew secretion are seen on the plant, produced by pest which attracts ants.
Management
- Spray tobacco decoction or neem oil-garlic emulsion (20 ml neem oil+ 20 gram garlic paste+ 5 gram bar soap dissolved / litre of water) or Pignut (Nattapoochedi) (Hyptis suaveolens) emulsion (100 gram/ litre of water) or Neem Seed Kernal Extract (50 gram/litre of water).
- Spray Lecanicillium lecanii (synonym Verticillium lecanii) (20 g/litre of water).
