Symptoms
- Larvae feed on foliage, flowers, and buds creating symmetrical holes or cuttings on tender leaf buds and irregular feeding holes on mature leaves.
- Host range : Cotton,sorghum, lablab, soybean, pea, safflower, chilies, groundnut, tobacco, okra, maize, and tomato.
Management
- Adopt deep summer ploughing.
- Set up light trap to attract and kill the moths.
- Set up pheromone traps (12 no/ha) to attract male moths.
- Release egg parasitoid (Trichogramma spp.) and Egg larval parasite (Chelonus blackburnii).
- Spray Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus (NPV) @ 250 LE/ha.
