  • ഇലകളില്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന വെള്ളം കുതിര്‍ന്ന ചെറിയ മഞ്ഞ പുള്ളികളാണ് രോഗത്തിന്‍റെ ആദ്യ ലക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍, പിന്നീട് ഇവ ഇലകളില്‍ മുഴുവനായി വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു.
  • രോഗം ബാധിച്ച ഇലകള്‍ വാടിത്തൂങ്ങുന്നു.
  • തോട്ടത്തിലും സംഭരണ സമയത്തും രോഗം ഒരുപോലെ കാണുന്നു.
  • ഉള്ളിയിലും പുറം ഭാഗത്തും തണ്ടിന്‍റെ കടഭാഗത്തും കടും പച്ച/കറുപ്പ് നിറത്തിലുള്ള പൂപ്പല്‍ കാണുന്നു.
  • ഈ പാടുകൾ ലെഷനുകള്‍ക്ക് ചുറ്റും വൃത്താകൃതിയില്‍ പരന്നു കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
  • കുമിള്‍ ബാധ ഉള്ളിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിച്ച് ഉള്ളി അഴുകുന്നു.

  • തോട്ടം വൃത്തിയായ് സൂക്ഷിക്കുകയും മുന്‍ വിളയുടെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ കത്തിച്ച് നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
  • രോഗ പ്രതിരോധ ശേഷിയുള്ള ഇനങ്ങള്‍ കൃഷി ചെയ്യാന്‍ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക.
  • നടീലിനു മുമ്പായി 1 കി.ഗ്രാം വിത്ത്‌ 20 g ട്രൈക്കോഡെര്‍മ വിറിഡെ/ സ്യൂഡോമോണസ് ഫ്ലൂറസൻസ് എന്ന മിത്ര കുമിള്‍ ഒരു ലിറ്റര്‍ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്ത് തയ്യാറാക്കിയ ലായിനിയില്‍ മുക്കി പരിചരണം നടത്തുന്നത് വളരെ ഫലപ്രതമാണ്.
